Why Did The Battery Terminal Melt On My Golf Cart’s Battery?
Why Did The Battery Terminal Melt On My Golf Cart’s Battery? This is a question that we get asked at the dealership quite a bit. And running neck and neck a close second is: “is this covered under warranty?”
There have been more than one individual who has been extremely disappointed with the correct “official answer” of no. This is a topic that many words have been used about, both verbal and written. I have covered this subject in numerous articles and in both of my books. Continue reading →
Things to do when you need to tow a malfunctioning golf cart.
We all love to use our golf carts when they work. Unfortunately there are times that they decide it’s quitting time and that they need a break. These times seldom ever happen at a convenient time. You know, like in your garage or at the cart barn. Yeah, like that'll ever happen.
The golf cart will usually break down during usage whether out on the back nine or while your kids have it down at the community center swimming in the pool. What do we do now? How do we get the darn (can’t use the words that most people say at these times!) thing back home? Or what do we need to do in order to get the golf cart back to the cart barn for service?
Why did my golf cart battery terminal melt? Why isn’t this a warranty issue?
I own and operate a golf cart dealership with two locations. We see customers with puzzled looks on their faces and hot tempered steam rising from their foreheads concerning a new or relatively new battery that has melted terminal damage thinking that this issue is a warrant-able one. That’s understandable when they are facing the fact of having to spend another hundred bucks or more on a replacement battery when they just did that not too long ago.
The Golf Cart’s Electrical System Is Just That: A Comprehensive System.
The Golf Cart’s Electrical System Is Just That: A Comprehensive System. What do I mean when I make that statement? Let’s liken it to the automobile’s starting system. There are several components involved when you start your car. There is the ignition switch for you to turn the key and the key itself; the wiring from the ignition switch thru a safety neutral device that prevents you from starting the car in gear; the wiring from the safety neutral device to the starter solenoid switch; the battery and the starter motor and the battery cables to take the current to the starter motor and return back to the battery on the ground side. It is a comprehensive system which needs each and every part to function properly in order for your bride not to fuss at you because the car won’t start! :0)Continue reading →
Here’s how to tell if you’re getting good deals on golf carts.
It happened again this past Saturday at our Ponte Vedra / Nocatee store. Its not unusual for this to happen really. You see I own a golf cart dealership in North Florida, now with two locations. We hear this every week from some well intentioned people who thought or felt that they were getting a good deal on a golf cart just to discover after words that they had been taken advantage of. Some unintentional, but most of them down right deceived!Continue reading →
