And here’s an excerpt from chapter four which deals with how to wash your golf cart:

“… Sooner or later your golf cart will need to be cleaned to keep it looking its best. One of the most common questions our customers ask is how to keep their carts looking like they just came off the showroom. It is extremely important for golf cart owners to remember this one thing before they clean their golf cart: water and electrical items do not mix. We have heard this over and over. …

The first caution to observe is to never let water get near or on the controller, solenoid (s), wiring connectors (where one set of wires merges with another set of wires, usually these connectors will look like "plastic thingies") and, most important, the electrical power motor. Look at the cable connections on the grey motor in the image. These connections are corroded and rusted and have resistance to proper current flow.”

And here’s a tidbit of what’s in chapter seventeen which covers the right and the wrong way to trailer your golf cart.” …

As trivial as it may seem, there are many people who do not know how to properly load and haul their golf cart on a trailer. The things I am going to say pretty much pertain to open trailers of the utility kind. However, some of them can be applied to the enclosed trailers as well. First thing about trailering your golf cart is to make sure you have the right size trailer to haul your golf cart.

A quick word about trailering golf carts in the back of pickup trucks. My recommendation is to not haul your golf cart this way. The bed of the truck sits pretty high up and even with long ramps it is very difficult and unsafe to get the golf cart in and out from the truck bed. A lot of times when you have to trailer a golf cart it is for the reason to get repairs. It takes several strong men to push the golf cart up the steep incline of the ramps into the truck bed. This is extremely dangerous. Even more so when unloading the golf cart. In addition the bed is narrow and often times you will damage either the side of your golf cart or scratch the inside fender wells of the truck bed. I have watched customers break one or more of their valve stems from their tires, fender flares, mirrors and more off of their carts while in our lot as they unload a golf cart out of the back of a pickup truck. Again, this is not the way to haul your golf cart. Instead, use a utility trailer….”

Finding a book which covers how to take care of a golf cart is a rare find indeed. Especially one that is informative and non commercialized. There’s no commercials in this work. There’s not a bias toward a particular part, dealer, distributor nor manufacturer. Just good, solid, useful information for the golf cart owner. The book “So You Bought a Golf Cart?: An Owner’s Guide for Learning about Golf Carts” will make a GREAT gift for anybody who owns or operates a golf cart.

“The book is a reference to get a better understanding about your golf cart, how to properly take care of it and what’s available for options and accessories. If after reading it you aren’t as confused about your golf cart and you can carry on a meaningful conversation about your golf cart with both the novice and the expert then I will be most pleased with the results.

However the greatest result of this book would be for you to be able to take better care of and get the most amount of usage out of your golf cart that is possible. That for years to come you and your family can get out there and enjoy your golf cart. After all, isn’t that what you bought it for? MKR”
